WHAT I WANT

Put your hand on my hand

and feel what my heart says,

are you in love?

Or is it just a passing phase?

My heart is mature enough,

I have no more second guessing

because I know what I want,

I love poetry because it immerses deeply in my soul. When I listen to it or read  poems, I am completely transported to another world where everything  is beautiful. If all of  our life were a poem, said by a veteran poet to his captivating beloved.  If it were as simple as poetry, as profound as poetry and as moving as poetry. Poetry says what words can not and conveys what words fail to. I love it because it is my favorite way to travel through time and space, taken  far away in poems.
