WHY I LOVE POETRY
I love poetry because it immerses deeply in my soul.
When I listen to it or read poems, I am completely transported to another world where everything is beautiful.
If all of our life were a poem, said by a veteran poet to his captivating beloved. If it were as simple as poetry, as profound as poetry and as moving as poetry.
Poetry says what words can not and conveys what words fail to.
I love it because it is my favorite way to travel through time and space, taken far away in poems.
I can not imagine life without poetry! It would inevitably be bleak and deadly and every day would resemble to the day before.
It is not just an art like any other art, nor a hobby or a talent.
It is a cause, a cause as important as the importance of life and the inevitability of death.
After all the destructive wars and all the extinct civilizations, we find poetry resilient to face everything. Time can not remove it, nor can disasters change it. It passed on from a generation to the next and from an era to the following, carrying the same meaning that first lingered in the poet's heart. Perhaps one of the embodiments of immortality is that it remains steadfast after everything else perishes even what was written.
It would be fair to say that my love for poetry was born with me, growing into me day after day. I lived within the poems of poets I knew as a child in my own little world. I remember how I used to buy the collections of some great poets when I was teenager, and how I used to enjoy reading them secretly and openly.
At the end, I think that for all those who don't like poetry, they have to think again.
